Everything You Need To Know About CurrentBody LED Devices
Without a doubt, the topic you will see in my DM’s on the daily is LED Masks. You’ve more than likely seen these futuristic masks all over your social media feed, but what do they actually do? Are they worth it? And should you use one? Keep reading to hear everything you need to know about LED Masks and my honest thoughts on whether they are worth it.
Thank you CurrentBody for sponsoring this blog post. As always, all opinions are my own.
Let’s start with the full scoop on what & why you should consider using CB LED devices! They are touted as a way to rejuvenate the skin, create a glowing complexion and a healthier-looking one. The devices combine both red and near infra-red light which is said to plump, smooth and even help with evening skin tone (aka WIN WIN WIN). The CB devices use both 633nm and 830nm light (red and near infra-red respectively). These wavelengths have been shown to stimulate collagen production, calm redness and boost circulation. When looking at devices, these wavelengths are one of the first things I make sure of, and make all the difference when it comes to efficacy. Of the many skin devices you can find, an LED mask with the aforementioned wavelengths like the CurrentBody is probably the most heavily research-backed (and worth your investment).
Now that we have discussed the logistics, let’s move on to my genuine opinion about these devices. Let me start by saying, I have tried a lot of different devices, and these are some of the most comfortable LED masks I have ever tried. This is all thanks to their soft silicone structure! The Velcro strap is also a game-changer for keeping the mask in place. I am also in love with how easy and effective the Neck & Dec is for specifically targeting the skin of the neck and decolletage. You have the option of applying higher on the neck and wrap around or wear lower on the chest to get the lower cleavage area. Pro tip: you can also lay the device over the backs of your hands to get the anti-aging benefit for this area.
In the brand’s own study, 95% of users revealed firmer, more youthful appearing skin and 35% less wrinkles in a month’s time. Overall, I think these devices will be most beneficial for anyone looking to get ahead of the signs of aging and help encourage collagen production (along with potentially smoothing some fine lines). It should be mentioned that using this device will not provide the same impact as a facelift or trip to your Derm provider for anti wrinkle injections, but I do believe it can really help!
Almost immediately, I felt like my skin was a bit more radiant and glowy when I started using the devices regularly. Considering I am way overdue for my anti-wrinkle injections and I haven’t been consistent about my retinoid, I have to assume these recent skin improvements are all due to the LED devices. Don’t worry, I’ll be sure to update this post as I continue to use the devices!
In conclusion, let’s look over the Pros & Cons:
Pros:
These masks, when used as directed, can actually make a difference in the quality of your skin without any disruption or abrasion of the skin itself. It’s also a low time commitment. The fact that one only has to commit to 10 minutes, 3-5 times a week is pretty incredible! I usually multitask and use mine while I meditate before bed!
Cons:
These devices are pricey. Ultimately I recommend making sure your skincare routine is intact first with all the basics, then you can invest in these masks to really amp things up. You can use code CBAMY for 15% off the CurrentBody website!
All in all I think these LED light devices are some of the best investments you can make when it comes to at-home treatments! Have you used one? What are your thoughts?
