Skinthusiast Select
If you’ve followed me for a minute, you already know this: I am incredibly particular about the products I share. I refuse to talk about anything that isn’t worth your time and money. I’ve always promised you that if I recommend it, it’s because I’ve vetted it.
But I wanted to take things up a notch.
Enter: Skinthusiast Select.
Products that receive the Skinthusiast Select seal (as pictured above) aren’t just products I like. They’re not even just products I keep in my arsenal or regular rotation. They’re the best of the best. Let’s get into it.
What Is Skinthusiast Select?
Think of it as my ultimate stamp of approval. When you see the Skinthusiast Select logo stamped on a product, you can be certain it has gone through my personal checklist and earned a permanent place at the top. I will go over the qualification criteria in a moment, but ultimately, the products are chosen based on consistency, science, and performance.
What It Takes to Be “Skinthusiast Select:”
As I already mentioned, not every product makes the cut. Tbh very few do. For a product to even be considered, it has to meet all of the following:
Time-Tested: I’ve used it consistently for at least a year (aka no-one-hit wonders here).
Science-Backed: The formulation and ingredients are grounded in research. You probably have picked up on this after following me, but this is something I am incredibly passionate about.
Well-Loved: This part is extra important to me. While I can love a product, I deeply care about the feedback of my patients, my community, and my colleagues. Not every product is loved by everybody, it does need to have an overall consensus of being well loved.
Performance That Speaks: It actually delivers. Not “kind of works” or “makes me feel good”—I’m talking results that stand out.
An Important Message: I think this part is a little extra important to say, but I want to emphasize that not a single product was sponsored (or will be sponsored) to be on this list. Brands cannot buy their way on to this exclusive list.
If it doesn’t pass every single one of these? It’s not getting the seal. Period.
This list will be updated as a product receives the seal, but for now, here is the official Skinthusiast Select list (I will break it up by category, to make it a little clearer).
Skinthusiast Select: Skin Edition
Alpyn Ghostberry Moisturizer – She’s perfection. I have dry skin and I would say that it’s an absolute essential of mine (especially in warmer months), but my oily skin types will love this for colder months. The formula and finish are unbeatable. The formula includes firming peptides that have the ability to soften wrinkles, Ghostberry (to soothe the skin), and 5 Ceramide Complex to support the skin barrier.
Skinfix Barrier+ Ceramide Cleanser – I have used this cleanser almost daily for the last year. It’s gentle, it’s thorough, and leaves the skin feeling so clean (without being stripped). Two of the star ingredients I want to highlight are ceramides to lock in moisture and a really beautiful humectant blend, including glycerin and ectoin, for lasting hydration.
Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Peel Pads – Single handedly clears up my acne every time I break out. When it comes to exfoliating ingredients, these pads contain 3 of my favorite heavy hitters: glycolic acid (AHA), lactic acid (AHA) and Malic Acid (AHA).
Naturium Retinaldehyde – It is arguably the most affordable, effective retinoid on the market. They have a gentle formula and a stronger formula. Either way, you can’t go wrong. It is arguably the most affordable, effective retinoid on the market. For those not familiar, this is a potent next-gen retinol that directly converts to retinoic acid.
Summer Fridays Mineral SPF – Potentially one of the more surprising items on this list. As you know, I am a tinted spf girl to my grave, but I am obsessed with using this one on my neck and chest. No white cast, no fuss, just the most gorgeous finish. It also feels like literal silk on the skin. It contains zinc oxide (of course), but it also has squalane, which is what really sets it apart for me.
SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic Antioxidant Serum - Quite literally sets the standard for all Vitamin Cs. There’s just nothing that compares to it. Its formula combines pure L-ascorbic acid (vitamin C), vitamin E, and ferulic acid. This trio works synergistically: vitamin C provides powerful antioxidant protection, vitamin E enhances stability and supports barrier repair, and ferulic acid both doubles the antioxidant potency and helps stabilize the vitamin C so it remains effective longer.
Skinthusiast Select: Skin-Friendly Beauty Edition
IT Cosmetics CC Cream – If I am using any type of “foundation,” 99% of the time I am wearing this. It has SPF (automatic win), but it also includes niacinamide to calm redness, hyaluronic acid for hydration, and peptides that support skin elasticity. It’s basically skincare and the most beautiful coverage, all in one.
Ciele Blush – A flush of color with built-in SPF? I don’t need to say more.
Skinthusiast Select: Hair Edition
Arey Wait a Sec Dry Shampoo – Once you’ve tried this dry shampoo, you can’t go back. It refreshes without irritation or buildup. Where it really stands out, for me, is it features the Mela-9® Complex, with Fo-Ti root and black sesame seed extracts that help support melanin and protect pigment to slow the appearance of grey hair. So you basically get the benefits of a dry shampoo and combat grey hair, all in one.
Crown Affair Clip – As someone with a lot of hair, I need to turn you onto this clip. For starters, it’s super gentle on the hair/scalp (doesn’t pull) and it miraculously holds all hair in place. How? I have no idea, but it’s everything.
Briogeo Charcoal + Coconut Oil Micro-Exfoliating Shampoo – After going through 15+ containers of this, I can honestly say it’s a necessity. If my scalp is feeling the least bit dry or itchy, I will use this as my first “cleanse.” It’s SO gentle with ingredients like binchotan charcoal to clear up excess buildup from the scalp, while coconut oil nourishes and hydrates (to prevent dryness). The formula is also boosted with peppermint and tea tree oils. I’m not kidding, it will leave your hair/scalp feeling brand new.
K18 Leave-In Molecular Repair Mask – If you invest in one hair treatment, let it be this. If you have hair damage, quite literally repair your hair from the inside out. The “magic” of the mask is the K18PEPTIDE™, a biotech-developed peptide that mimics hair’s structure to reconnect broken polypeptide chains and disulfide bonds at the molecular level. What this means is it would instantly repair damage from heat, color, and chemical treatments in just four minutes. It’s the real deal, guys.
As promised, this list will be regularly updated as a new product makes the list! Make sure to keep an eye out for the seal and let me know any products you think should be considered for the list!
