Debunking Collagen Powders & Supplements

Let’s discuss using collagen powders/supplements to increase the collagen in your skin!

First and foremost, what IS collagen? Collagen is a protein that serves as one of the main building blocks for your bones, skin, hair, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Essentially, collagen gives us a youthful and plump look. Beginning in our mid twenties, we start to slowly lose some of our collagen. Due to this, collagen supplements and collagen powders have grown in popularity as part of an anti-aging regimen.

Now, do these supplements and powders ACTUALLY work? Short answer, they are an easy way to waste $50 and that’s about it. To this day, there is zero strong evidence that collagen powders/supplements actually increase collagen in the skin. If there was scientific evidence to back it up, believe me when I say I would be hoarding it in every cabinet of my home. Unfortunately, that’s just not the case.

My best advice is don’t waste your money on collagen supplements, put your focus towards building a strong skin regimen instead. Invest in Vitamin Cretinoids, and daily SPF that has strong evidence and proven results.
