My Top 5: Eye Creams

Let’s be real: when it comes to skincare, there’s not necessarily one magic product that solves all our problems—especially under-eye concerns. But especially on days when my under eye area needs a little TLC (this is especially common when I am pregnant). I found that adding eye creams to my routine can really help brighten and firm up my under-eye area. While eye creams are a bonus step to your morning and night routine (aka not a necessity), they can definitely be a nice bonus step that gives you that can help that stubborn under-eye area.

The Goal of Eye Creams

I know this might sound like a silly place to start, because the goal is “obvious.” With that, I find there to be a lot of misconceptions on what eye creams can actually help you with, and your girl is all about expectations. So let’s discuss:

Eye creams have one main goal: to address specific concerns around the delicate skin around your eyes, such as dark circles, puffiness, and fine lines. That skin is thinner than the rest of your face, which means it’s more susceptible to showing signs of aging and dehydration. The good news is that eye creams, when formulated with the right ingredients, can absolutely provide a positive benefit.

Now, are they a permanent fix for dark circles, or can they make them completely disappear? No, but they can hydrate, plump, brighten, and target the signs of aging over time. Some ingredients I look for in my eye cream are retinol, peptides, caffeine, and vitamin C. They are fantastic for firming the skin, reducing puffiness, and lightening dark circles. Alright now that we have covered that, let’s get into some of my eye cream picks!

So, without further ado here are my TOP 5 EYE CREAMS!

Neocutis Lumiere Riche: This has become one of my go-to eye creams for the morning! Not only is it incredibly hydrating, but it also acts as an amazing primer under makeup (the combo of my concealer on top of this is *chefs kiss*). With added caffeine, it helps reduce puffiness, and you can even store it in the fridge for an extra cooling effect. It's so good!

Skinfix Barrier + Lipid-Boost 360: Moving on to my nighttime go-to. This one is super rich and moisturizing, making it ideal for nighttime use when I’m not worried about layering makeup on top. The lipids and oils in this cream feel like the perfect nourishment for my under-eye area overnight.

Revision Skincare Revox 7: If Neocutis is my morning choice, Skinfix is my evening choice, this one has to be my “when I am pregnant” choice. I have to admit, I was initially skeptical about this one. It’s a high price point with a lot of claims, but after trying it, I was really impressed! I absolutely love the applicator and I find it fantastic for targeting those stubborn fine lines. Especially when I am pregnant and I feel like I need a little more heavy lifting for supporting my under eye area, this is essential.

Alpyn Beauty Instant Bright Eye With Peptides & Niacinamide: This is my newest eye cream obsession! If you follow me on IG, you know that I am quite literally obsessed with the moisturizer from this brand, so it should be no surprise that the eye cream is just as good. It not only brightens the under-eye area but also deeply hydrates. It’s packed with peptides and niacinamide, but is still a formula gentle enough for my sensitive eye area.

Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic and Retinol Eye Serum: Last, but certainly not least, we have the eye serum from DDG. If you’re looking for a powerhouse product, this is it. Packed with licorice extract to lighten pigment and retinol to promote skin renewal, this eye serum is so good for tackling both puffiness and dark circles. I love to incorporate it into my nighttime routine, as a way to rejuvenate the skin overnight.

I hope this gives you some ideas for what to look for in an eye cream! If you have any questions or want to know more about any of my other skincare favorites, feel free to reach out. Also,I’d love to hear which eye cream you have been loving!
