My 5 Personal Favorite Niacinamide Products
It’s pretty clear to see that Niacinamide has climbed the ranks (especially in recent years), becoming a skincare MVP. Vitamin B3 has SO many skin benefits, including improving skin texture, reducing the appearance of pores, helping to regulate oil production, and fading dark spots. It's truly no wonder that it has found its way into a wide range of skincare brands and products, from serums to moisturizers. I won’t go into my thoughts too much on what I think about Niacinamide (I highly encourage you to read my Niacinamide 101 blog for that), but today I will be covering my absolute favorite products that have Niacinamide in them.
I should preface that while I'm all for leveraging the power of Niacinamide, I advise against adding a dedicated niacinamide serum to your routine, simply because this ingredient is already prevalent in many skincare formulations. Its versatility means it's found in nearly everything, from cleansers and moisturizers to masks and sunscreens, making it easy to overdo it without realizing. My approach is to select products that incorporate niacinamide in one of my skincare products, offering a balanced skincare routine without ingredient overload. So I want to preface that I would not suggest using all 5 of these products together (since they all contain Niacinamide). Try them out on their own and tie them into your regimen how you see fit!
1. Naturium Niacinamide Cleansing Gelée 3%
This essence-like cleanser is a game-changer for anyone looking to gently remove makeup and impurities while benefiting from niacinamide's skin-improving properties. It is 3% niacinamide concentration, and if you want the B3 benefit here, lather on and let it sit on the skin for a few minutes before rinsing. I swear, your skin will be left softer, smoother, and more balanced after every wash. Added bonus? Use code AMYK15 for 15% off!
2. SkinMedica Lytera 2.0 Pigment Correcting Serum
One of my holy grail items if you are struggling with hyperpigmentation! As most of you know, I have hyperpigmentation this is one of those tried and true serums I’ve used and recommended for years (side note: if you also struggle with hyperpigmentation, you’ll be obsessed with my recent podcast episode with Shani Darden). This serum is suitable for most skin types, which is an automatic win. Beyond that, the formula allows the product to be the perfect balance of gentle and effective.
3. Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Eye Cream with Niacinamide
This eye cream is SO GOOD. It’s enriched with a rich blend of five ceramides, panthenol, and the added benefit of, of course, Niacinamide. This combination boosts moisture levels and visibly improves the undereye area. It’s lightweight and gentle, but does the trick! I truly love having this one on repeat in my skincare regimen.
This moisturizer is truly just such a classic staple. It’s affordable (immediate win), but also has a beautiful blend of ceramides, niacinamide, and hyaluronic acid to deeply nourish and hydrate your skin as you sleep. Especially if you have normal to dry skin, this will be a great addition for you!
One of my favorite skincare brands does it again! Naturium’s daily moisturizing sunscreen not only provides broad-spectrum SPF 50 protection but also leaves the perfect dewy finish. Basically, it’s groundbreaking if you are looking for a glow while protecting your skin! You also get 15% off this sunscreen by using code “AMYK15.”
Ok, let’s just do a quick recap: incorporating niacinamide into your skincare routine is amazing and can truly transform your skin's appearance and health. With that, due to the amount of products and brands putting it in EVERYTHING, it’s really not necessary (or in my opinion, advised) to add a Niacinamide specific serum! I suggest exploring a product with Niacinamide in it (I wouldn’t have more than 1 or 2 in your regimen at once)! That way you can receive the full benefits of this ingredient, without overdoing it. I can’t wait for you to give these products a try, let me know what you think!
