PM Pregnancy Skin Care Routine

After my blog on my AM pregnancy routine, I have been receiving a ton of requests to break down my PM Pregnancy Routine! Similar to my morning routine, it really hasn’t changed too much. I still absolutely use exfoliants (a little teaser for you) and most of my focus is on hydration and combating my hyperpigmentation. Of course, the main difference is that I now skip my retinoid. If you are curious about the exact steps and products I use, keep on reading! Let’s get into the details.

You already know I am a double cleanse advocate, so the first step in my routine is Naturium Cleansing Balm. I cycle through a lot of incredible cleansing balms, but I just love how this one has been melting my makeup off. I apply the balm to my dry skin, massage it in, emulsify with a little water and then gently remove with a warm, soft washcloth.

If you’re on the oilier side or overall don’t like the feeling of balms/oils i love to use a micellar water like this one from Bioderma as my first cleanse.

You have probably already heard me say this, but I swear by a double cleanse year round! I find it to be the only way to thoroughly remove makeup and sunscreen, AND thoroughly cleanse the skin.

After removing my cleansing balms, I always go in with a water-based cleanser. Lately, I’ve been using the SKINFIX Barrier+ Ceramide + Ectoin Hydrating Gentle Gel Cleanser because it’s a pH-balanced gel-to-foam formula that’s incredibly gentle yet effective. It’s also non-stripping, which I typically look for with my cleanser!

If you’re very dry you can stick to something really creamy like Honest Beauty’s Calm On Foaming Cream Cleanser and if you’re on the oilier side something like the Medature Gel Cleanser is a great option.

Like I mentioned, keeping my skin hydrated during pregnancy is essential. On damp skin, apply your favorite humectant. The “damp skin” bit isn’t a 100% necessity but I do much prefer the experience rather than applying my serum to dry skin. Humectants like those found in hydrating serums are amazing for making the skin appear plump and hydrated. If you saw my recent reel, you know I am currently LOVING this serum from PCA Skin and this one from MANTLE, (Naturium also has a great budget friendly serum)!

When it comes to my moisturizer, I always choose options specifically for dry skin. I love the AESTURA Atobarrier cream which is a KSkin brand, and of course my tried and true Skinfix Barrier+ for dry to really dry types. The Cetaphil Cream (more dry) or Lotion (less dry) are also really great drugstore options!

Next up is giving my under eye area a little TLC. Since I can’t get my normal neuromodulator treatments, I have been using the Revision DEJ Eye Cream religiously!

Last (but certainly not the least), I always apply a lip mask before bed. The La Neige Lip Mask is a must-have and I have been obsessed for years! On other nights I’ll just use a petrolatum like the Prequel Skin Utility Ointment (easy to pick up at Target!)
