My Body Care Routine
How often do we spend a full 10 minutes on our facial routine and just completely ignore the all-too-important skin on our bodies?
I am guilty of this, too, and I am already noticing that the skin on my face looks better, younger more supple than the skin on my chest and elsewhere. I had a question from a follower about my am/pm body care routine. Although, I don’t follow it as religiously as I do my facial routine, I wanted to break down my body care products!
My Body Care Routine
In the shower I use a multitude of different body care. A few times a week I use an AHA product with or without a combined physical exfoliant. This doesn’t have to be a fancy scrub but I’ll link the ones I personally use and love. Using some sort of chemical exfoliant on the skin is also important if you suffer from body acne or KP.
On the days I’m not using a scrub I opt for a body shower oil to really add some moisture to my skin especially in the dry winter months.
I avoid stripping soaps when possible.
After I hop out of the shower, I GENTLY PAT my skin leaving it just a little damp.
While it’s still damp I lock in moisture with a good body moisturizer.
For problem areas like knees, elbows and anywhere I don’t want crepey skin, I use a product called Bodifirm. I was super skeptical at first to invest in a body product like this one but the before and after data from the brand is pretty awesome.
At night, I try to always bring my facial skin care down to my neck, chest, and backs of my hands.
This includes my exfoliating peel pads and my retinoid! Be careful as the skin on the neck and the chest sometimes doesn’t tolerate these active ingredients as well as the face so it’s important to start slowly (once a week) and work your way up.
Lastly, I always always always apply a hand cream before bed!
Our hands show our age faster than most other areas so I protect them like crazy. I also make sure they get some SPF in the morning!

Amy
